What is your job? Do you love it or loathe it? Why? I'm a Graphic Designer. I love it.
I'm creative and it allows me to be creative every time. Things are always different and I always welcome new challenges. It's never boring!
What is your favorite color(s)? Pink, teal, gray
What is your favorite season, and why? Please let us know what we can find you doing during these months. Summer
I love the warmth, the sunshine and all the colors summer brings.
You can find me with my kids walking nature trails. Kayaking on the lake or rivers. Laying on the beach. Or simply having coffee on my patio.
What thing(s) do you do to calm yourself or get you back to being grounded? Alone time is a big thing for me.
Walking or enjoying my quiet place on my patio.
Sometimes being alone and blasting music in my car or even at home and I'll just clean or organize.
Are you more shy or outgoing?
Definitely outgoing
On your day(s) off what can we find you doing? Lately, it's been chill. I no longer feel guilty for sitting on my couch watching a movie.
But typically my days off from normal work means I can catch up on PTO stuff at my kids' school.
Are you a salty or sweet treat lady? Salty!
What is your favorite holiday, and why? Christmas and my birthday!
Christmas because I love the beauty that comes with it and the togetherness of family.
My birthday, because it's the one day I can celebrate myself! Lol
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Why? Anywhere in Europe. There are so many beautiful places over there that is unlike the US.
What are your fears? Losing myself.
My children being hurt or not being a good mom.
Drowning
If you could give advice to fellow ladies, what would it be? Self-worth is so important. Don't let others' opinions defy that for yourself.
Everyone has a different level of "hard", don't judge, be kind, and accept everyone is trying.
(this is the best advice I give myself and often tell others)
What is your goal(s) in life? Why are those currently your goal(s)? My goal is to get my mental health back on track. My anxiety spiked this past year and it's been an internal struggle getting back to normal.
Another is setting boundaries. I struggle with this and I am always a "yes" woman. I need to set boundaries and be okay with it.
What has been the hardest lesson to learn so far in your life? I've had to really think about this question.
I don't think I've had any life lessons that were the hardest. Most life lessons became experiences. They were all equally hard at the time.
Moving out on my own, having children, being in a relationship, establishing relationships, putting myself through school, Etc.
However, if I had to pick one, based on my life. I'd say the most difficult life lesson I've accepted is that not everyone is like me.
How would your family and friends describe you? Outgoing, kind, genuine, happy, silly, too nice. (yes, too nice) lol
Who in your life do you look up to the most? Why? It's hard to look up to someone for accomplishments because their road to success was stressful. It's hard to look up to someone without comparing yourself to them. We tend to feel bad about ourselves because we're not like who we "look up to"
In all seriousness, I look up to myself. I've accomplished a lot. I've made it this far. I'm proud of what I've brought myself through.
I also look up to my children. I'm raising them with kindness and compassion. I see my teenage daughter and how she handles situations. I see my middle school daughter and how she takes action with her work and the pride she has in everything she does. I see my elementary-aged son and his empathetic nature to make friends.
I look up to us. :)
What makes you unique? My empathy and my energy. I'm highly sensitive to the world around me and I can tend to read the room and the people in it. I'm often told I can make anyone comfortable. I share real-life and relatable experiences so people don't feel alone.
What do you love about doing boudoir photoshoots? The freedom! The no judgments. The confidence you feel the moment you walk into the studio!
What made you decide to be a Brand Ambassador for Alter Ego Boudoir? I've always put myself last.
As a mom and a wife, you tend to go on the back burner tending to everyone else's needs. I lost myself over the years trying to fit into the typical suburbanite housewife standards. You lose confidence in your body and self sometimes.
I share personal experiences all the time when it comes to mental health, stress, married life, etc. Getting stuck in this rut is so common amongst my age group and women don't speak up. I want to be their voice. I'm still getting myself back and I want to help others like me get their selves back! To let them know they're more than a mom, a wife, a caregiver, or a provider.
Women need that sense of self-worth and to feel good. I had no idea how good this shoot would make me feel until I did it! Therefore it needs to be shared!
What are you looking forward to the most from becoming a Brand Ambassador?
Omg. Everything!
