Hair and Makeup for Your Boudoir Session | Michigan Boudoir Photographer

Updated: Oct 21, 2020

When is the last time you had someone fuss over you? When is the last time you had someone do your hair, or your makeup, or both? For many women, the answer is “not since my wedding,” and for others, the answer can even be “never.” That’s one of the many reasons I include hair and makeup services with my boudoir sessions. It’s the perfect time to pamper yourself a bit!

Beyond how great it makes you feel; it makes the camera happy. I’ve mentioned this before, but the camera sees life a little differently than we do. Having professionally done hair and makeup is beneficial because the people on my team who do hair and makeup do it for a living. Catch what I am saying here? They really know their stuff, and they know how to get you camera-ready for your session.

I absolutely do not require my clients to do hair and makeup if they are not comfortable with it, or if they really prefer a totally natural look with little to no styling. However, getting hair and makeup done before your session does allow you to ease into the boudoir session process a bit. You get to come in, sit, relax, and get ready while we chat and get comfortable before I’m asking you to get partially nakey in front of me! Most of my clients love these services, it allows them to chill out a bit before the session, and I can almost watch them start to make a mind/body connection as we move from hair to makeup to putting on those sexy clothes.

You know the saying when you look great; you feel great. Boudoir photography is an investment! You’ve chosen an outfit with care, spent some time getting skin and nails in good shape, and perhaps even taken the day off of work. Take advantage of the opportunity to look your very best once I get you behind that camera! And while you are at it, why not schedule a date night so you can really make use of how great you look?!

Your input is always welcomed, and my hair and makeup artists will work within your comfort zone for how glammed up you want to be, or don’t wanna be. The right application of makeup can minimize and soften features you don’t want prominent and enhance your very best features. And having that super sexy hair just makes you feel totally fierce!

Have questions about the process of getting your hair and makeup done before your boudoir session? I’m happy to walk you through the entire process!

Drop me an email or call the studio at (248) 747-7236 and let’s chat.
