Describe yourself in 3 words.
Nervous, eager, planner
Share a little about yourself.
I'm engaged to my boyfriend of 11+ years, I have 2 children, 10 and 13. I've been an administrative assistant to a CEO and partners for private orthopedic practice for 6 years. I love vacations out of state to tropical beaches and sightseeing new places, I prefer to fly when traveling. No specific hobbies. I recently took an interest in fitness. This is something I've always been interested in, but never practiced routinely until recently. I've struggled with body image and lack of confidence since having children, the mood comes and goes. One day I may be super confident and love myself, the next I may feel really gross and blah. Since adding fitness to my routine its safe to say I have better days/months than blah days. I also stopped comparing myself to others (I think this is the hardest thing as a person/woman) and started comparing myself to previous photos of myself to track progress. It took me a long time to get here. As I tell myself often, comparison kills happiness.
Why did you want to do a boudoir session?
My sister did a boudoir session, and at first, I thought she was crazy due to the amount of money it costs. Then I saw her pictures and listened to how much she loved the experience, and how she wants to do it again. Over time I started to follow Catherine Kellie Boudoir under my sisters' recommendation. I then became engaged in May 2019 and thought this would be the perfect gift for my husband on our wedding day. I applied for a modeling promotion through Catherine Kellie Boudoir, thinking this is the perfect opportunity to get familiar with a boudoir session. Leading up to the session I wasn't sure what to expect, even with all the prepping emails, I never felt fully prepared. I tend to be indecisive and wasn't sure how things would look in the photos. During the boudoir session, all my worries and thoughts melted away, thankfully during the first outfit. Long story short, I loved the session and was happy with the results. I loved the outcome so much that I purchased more than anticipated. I've decided to use my first session as a birthday gift for my fiance and booked another session for bridal. I also thought it would be interesting to get his feedback on the pictures, to see his thoughts and ideas to put towards my next session. I can't wait!
Before your shoot - what do you remember thinking/feeling?
I would put more effort into finding the perfect outfits/ lingerie, shoes, and jewelry. I was very indecisive. It's unfortunate most lingerie is found online, there is a lot of buying and returning when it comes to making new purchases, that adds to the stress if not done far enough in advance.
What were your feelings and emotions on the day of your shoot?
Before I was nervous, during I felt relaxed, and after I felt happy.
How did you feel the day of your reveal?
I felt excited and nervous the day of my reveal
Knowing what you know now, would you do it again?
Yes, I already booked my next session. I would put more effort into my outfits, and have them set a few weeks in advance. Also, look up pictures to get new ideas since I have done a session previously.
What do you feel other women need to know?
Stretch your hip flexors and relax! Something that is kind of weird, when she says to practice your poses - do it! When practicing poses I never thought for a second to practice my face pose. I never practiced posing, I thought this inst going to be a big deal, I'll feel sexy and my poses will come naturally and decided to skip it. For some reason, I had the hardest time keeping my mouth slightly open.... which is a must for most photos! My lips would not relax or hold a soft open, and I don't know why, but they kept twitching. The oddest thing I ever experienced, and hope it doesn't happen during my next shoot!
